2011 BRACKET-1 RULES 

Class Description
 

Rules & Regulations: 
Bracket 1 uses a " 5/10ths Sportsman Tree" start system. Any vehicle including Door Cars, Dragsters, Alters and Motorcycles are permitted. Any modifications, any tires, any vehicle weight, or power adders are permitted. Delay boxes, crossover boxes, or any "reaction-time related" electronic aids are permitted. B-1 Racers will get 1 Qualifier on Thursday Nov 17th, 2 Qualifiers on Friday Nov, 18th and 1 on Saturday Nov, 19th then 1st round of elimination's is Sat afternoon with 2nd round (Including buybacks) on Sunday Morning Nov 20th

Deep Staging: 
Deep staging is permitted. Please have the words "DEEP" clearly written on all four windows.

Buy Backs: 
You can buy back after a 1st round elimination loss. Buy backs will be allowed to enter directly into 2nd round. The buy back fee is $20, and you must have cash in the lanes when the buy back call is made before 2nd round.

Registering For The Class: 
All Bracket-1 racers must register and pay their class fee's at the SCSN Event Trailer before heading to tech area.

Burn-Out Procedure:
Bracket-1 "Door Cars" are not allow burn-outs across the starting line. You must complete and stop your burn-out without crossing the starting line. Vehicles with no front brakes, may cross the line but only in an effort to stop.

Field Size and Ladder:
Bracket-1 is an "All Run" Class with 1st Round Loser Buybacks Available

ENGINE OIL-RETENTION DEVICE:
All Bracket-1 entries that go quicker than 9.99 will be required to utilize an NHRA-accepted lower engine oil-retention device. SFI Spec 7.1 or 7.2 Lower Engine Containment Device also permitted. The lower engine containment device must cover the sides of the block and pan up to one inch of the head mating surface and extend within 1 1/2 inches of the front and rear of the cylinder case area. A belly pan may be used in the lieu of a device attached to the engine. The belly pan must extend from framerail to framerail and extend forward of the harmonic balancer and to the rear of the engine block and must incorporate a minimum 2-inch-high lip on all sides.  A nonflammable, oil-absorbent liner mandatory inside of retention device. Any device that fails to perform as required must be replaced or repaired to the satisfaction of the technical staff prior to any further runs.

SCSN Required Decals & Front Plate:
Class Sponsor Decal 
"Calvert Racing" decal must be installed on base of windshield on the passenger side. (Bottom left hand side when looking at front of vehicle windshield)
Event Sponsor Decal 
"Chassisworks" decal must be installed on base of windshield on the drivers side. (Bottom right hand side when looking at front of vehicle windshield)
SCSN VII License Plate 
All cars must display the "2011 SCSN VII" Front License Plate either on the front bumper or grille before passing tech. Plate will be given to racers at registration......

Decals will be available during registration at the SCSN Event Trailer

Contingency Program & Contingency Decals:
All contingency decals may appear anywhere on the vehicle in a clear and organized fashion. Contingency decals may not be overlapped or modified. Most decals are available at the SCSN Event Trailer, but in the event the SCSN does not have the decals in stock, it is the racer's responsibility to obtain the proper decals to be eligible for the Contingency payout.

RACE DAY POLICY'S

Registering For The Class: 
All Bracket-1 Racers must register (Please bring your NHRA Track Tech Card with you) at the SCSN Event Trailer before taking your car to tech....

Lane Choice:
 
During 1st round of elimination's the higher qualified car will have lane choice.. In the 2nd round and beyond, the driver that is closest to his/her Dial without going quicker will be awarded lane choice. If both drivers go under their Dial, the driver that is closer to his/her Dial will be awarded lane choice for that round.

Tow Back & Tow Vehicles:
Bracket-1 does allow tow vehicles in the staging lanes.. You can also tow your vehicle back to the pits at the conclusion of your run after exiting the racing surface.

Burn-Out Procedure:

Bye-Runs:
All vehicles must at least take the tree.. If you just want to stage, break the beams and back out, please inform track worker at the Arch before pulling up to burnout box.

Payouts:
 
All Bracket-1 Racers that earn prize money can go directly to the SCSN trailer after eliminations and pick up his/her Winnings.

Winners Circle Picture & Contingency Verification:
 
Bracket-1 Winner & Runner-up must return to the SCSN Winners Circle Area for Official Photographs and Contingency Verification. Failing to do so, will result in loss of all contingency monies earned. There are no exceptions!!!
