Caramba Tequila LIMITED STREET RULES
Class Description
Limited Street
will run on a 1/4 mile
format with a 32-car
Qualified field with
Alternates
Caramba Tequila
Limited Street is a heads-up
class for all types of
vehicles from 60's muscle cars
to late model Mustangs, Supras
and Camaros. This class will
have a little of everything
with limits on cylinder heads
and power adders. Suspension,
both front and rear must
retain stock configuration.
Legal power adders include the
use of a nitrous oxide,
centrifugal type superchargers
and 80mm or smaller single
turbocharger. All cars compete
on a 28 x10.5 Slick.
Class Guidelines
BODY
BODY:
The car must retain its
original appearance and
profiles. Aftermarket
fiberglass parts are limited
to hoods, front fenders, rear
deck lids and front bumpers
only. After market wings and
spoilers are permitted.
LETTERING / DECALS:
Car lettering & Decals are
allowed on all windows (Except
where SCSN Class & Series
Decals are required) 1 major
sponsor decal will be allowed
on the rear quarter panel,
decklid or door (Not to exceed
250sq Inches per side) and on
Cowl hood area (Not to exceed
50sq Inches per side) Limited
Street Class sponsor decal
(Caramba Tequila) must be
placed in the lower passenger
corner of the front windshield
SCSN Series Sponsor decal
(Chassisworks) must be
placed in the lower passenger
corner of the front
windshield..
FIREWALL:
Must retain factory unaltered
firewall, in factory location.
A cosmetic overlay is
permitted.
HOOD / SCOOPS:
Forward facing hood scoops are
prohibited, unless factory
equipped for make & model
entered (Scoop can be no
larger than what came stock on
that year vehicle). Fiberglass
replacement hoods (cowl) are
permitted. Cowl hoods are
limited to 6 inches in height.
INTERIOR:
All factory interior pieces
must be in factory locations.
Factory door panels,
headliner, carpet,
dashboard are required. Back
seat may be deleted, but must
have carpet covering the bare
floor.
SEAT LOCATION:
Two front bucket seats, or one
bench seat with upholstery
required. Seats must remain in
the
stock location.
WINDOWS:
Must be of safety glass. The
only exception will be the
rear window. All front door
windows must be fully
operational.
BRACKET RACING AIDS
The use of any bracket racing
aids such as optical sensors,
delay boxes, and throttle
stops are prohibited
BRAKES
The braking system may be
upgraded to discs or larger
drums. All cars must have
front and rear
brakes.
CHASSIS / SUSPENSION
FRONT SUSPENSION
All cars must retain factory
stock-type suspension. Front
frame rails, radiator core
support, and
inner fender sheet metal must
remain in stock location
(trimming for header clearance
permitted). Aftermarket
tubular control arms, coil
over kits, or OEM front strut
retrofits are permitted. But
must be a direct bolt on, no
welding modifications
permitted. Aftermarket Racing
Struts with spindle mounts or
hub mounts designed for tube
type front ends are
prohibited. Stock wheelbase
will be enforced on all
vehicles. If your car is an
original A-arm car, then it
has to have A-arm type
suspension.
K-MEMBER
Aftermarket
factory-replacement-type
K-member permitted, but must
attach to the chassis using
only the original factory
OEM-type mounting bolts. No
part of the K-member may be
welded to the chassis.
REAR SUSPENSION
All cars must retain stock
rear suspension. Bolt on
traction devices are
permitted. Sway bars may be
deleted or added (This
includes "weld in" ANTI-ROLL
Bars) Leaf springs may be
relocated for tire clearance
purposes. Shocks must retain
original angle as factory
equipped.
FRAME & CHASSIS
Stock frame rails must be
retained front and rear and be
unaltered. Sub frame
connectors are
permitted.
DRIVE TRAIN
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS:
No Restrictions…
MANUAL TRANSMISSION:
Factory and Aftermarket manual
transmissions are allowed.
Liberty or Lenco type
transmissions are not
permitted. All shifts must be
made manually without the aid
of electric or pneumatic
devices. Also, clutch
operation must be manual with
Single Disc Clutch Only
REAR-END:
No Restrictions…
ELECTRICAL:
No Restrictions…
ENGINE
There are no restrictions on
internal engine modifications
Pontiac and Olds engines are
considered as small blocks
under 415ci. Cross-Breeding OK
ENGINE OILING SYSTEM
Dry sumps are prohibited on
all engines except GM LS &
Ford Mod Motors (see adds
below in weight section). The
front cross member may be
altered for oil pan removal.
Vacuum pumps are acceptable.
ENGINE MOUNTING LOCATION:
Engine must remain in stock
location, MOTOR PLATES
ALLOWED. Engine may
not touch the factory
unaltered firewall.
ENGINE OIL-RETENTION DEVICE:
All Limited Street Cars will
be required to utilize an
NHRA-accepted lower engine
oil-retention device.
SFI Spec 7.1 or 7.2 Lower Engine Containment Device
permitted. The lower engine
containment device must cover
the sides of the block and pan
up to one inch of the head
mating surface and extend
within 1 1/2 inches of the
front and rear of the cylinder
case area. A belly pan may be
used in the lieu of a device
attached to the engine. The
belly pan must extend from
framerail to framerail and
extend forward of the harmonic
balancer and to the rear of
the engine block and must
incorporate a minimum
2-inch-high lip on all sides.
A nonflammable, oil-absorbent
liner mandatory inside of
retention device. Any device
that fails to perform as
required must be replaced or
repaired to the satisfaction
of the technical staff prior
to any further runs.
BLOCK:
Aftermarket cast iron
production blocks are allowed.
Factory “Mass Produced”
Aluminum OEM blocks
permitted.. Cross-Breeding OK
CAMSHAFT:
No Restrictions…

Carb is limited to a single
conventional 4150 design (No

INTAKE MANIFOLD -
Carburetor:
Commercially available,
mass-produced cast aluminum
single four barrel intakes are
permitted. No sheet metal or
other composite manifolds
permitted.
INTAKE MANIFOLD -
EFI:
EFI may use a Composite upper
manifold on a factory equipped
cast lower. Carb to EFI
conversion manifolds are legal
(example Edelbrock part #
29245)
NITROUS:
Nitrous is limited to two
solenoids (1 Gas & 1
Nitrous), One 10lb bottle,
with a dash 4 (Traditional
Braided) line from bottle to
nitrous solenoid (Min 6ft).
No
progressive type controllers
of any kind and “Push Systems”
are permitted.
Purge system is legal, however
nitrous must exit into
atmosphere outside of the
engine compartment.
4 & 6 Cylinder combo's that
use nitrous in addition to a
turbo or blower are limited to
a single conventional fogger
nozzle ONLY and Please see
weight adds below....
TURBOCHARGER:
Single Turbo size is limited
to a single
TRUE 80mm (Please see below
for measuring procedures).

EXHAUST
Production type mufflers are
required. No collector
inserts, or collector mufflers
permitted. Modification or
removal of muffler internals
is prohibited (no gutting).
FUEL / FUEL SYSTEMS
Gasoline & Race Gas only (No
Alcohol or Nitro) The SCSN
reserves the right to check
gasoline at any time during
competition. The addition of
chemical additives intended to
alter the makeup of the
gasoline for increased
performance is strictly
prohibited. During fuel check,
a competitor must identify the
brand of gasoline being used.
The sample will be considered
illegal if it does not match
the baseline results (ex.
color, dielectric reading
+or-.2, and chemical tests)
logged by SCSN. Failure to
pass fuel check is grounds for
disallowance of the run during
qualifying and
disqualification from the
event during eliminations.
IGNITION
Programmable ignition systems
permitted (example..MSD
Digital-7 Programmable, PMS &
Ford EPEC Systems) Crank
triggers are permitted. 2 & 3
step modules are allowed.
TRACTION CONTROL:
Not Permitted.

working headlights and tail
lights (headlights doors must
be fixed open or work manually

inches. Front tires do not
have to be DOT

All contingency decals may appear anywhere on the vehicle in a clear and organized fashion. Contingency decals may not be overlapped or modified. Most decals are available at the SCSN Event Trailer, but in the event the SCSN does not have the decals in stock, it is the racer's responsibility to obtain the proper decals to be eligible for the Contingency payout.
RACE DAY POLICY'S
Field
Size and Ladder:
Limited
Street will qualify for a 32-car
field (with Alternates) and will be
put on a 32-car Pro Ladder. If less
than 32 cars enter, we will follow
the NHRA "Official Ladder"
for the field size....
All cars that DO NOT QUALIFY,
will be eligible to enter into our
Bracket-1 Class on Sunday that will
pay a guaranteed $1000.00 to WIN....
Alternates:
If
there are more than 32 cars
qualifying for the 32-car field, we
will start inserting alternates (To
replace broken qualified cars)
starting at spot 33 and so on... If
you are an alternate, and a spot
opens up, you will be inserted in
the 1st available position before
the drivers meeting on Sunday
morning. This will give the
qualified cars overnight to get the
cars repaired.
Registering For The Class:
All
Limited
Street Racers must register
(Please bring your NHRA
Track Tech Card with you) at
the SCSN Event Trailer
before taking your car to
tech....
Scales:
After each qualifying and
elimination pass, all cars
must stop and weigh at the
track scales. If you lose in
eliminations, and your
opponent fails to make
weight you will be
reinstated into the
eliminations only if you
made minimum weight
requirements. If both cars
failed to make minimum
weight, both cars will be
disqualified. It is the
driver's responsibility to
verify with each track
scale, the weight of his/her
car prior to each race day.
There will 5lb error factor
allowed.
Alternating Lanes During
Qualifying:
Each Limited Street driver
must alternate lanes during
qualifying. Even if you skip a
session, you must run the
opposite lane you made your
previous run in. If you choose
to ignore this rule, your
second consecutive pass in the
same lane will be
disqualified.
Entering into a 2nd Class:
During qualifying, any SCSN
racer who purchases a 2nd NHRA
Tech Card and pays entry into
an additional class will be
able to do so. However, once
your Final Limited Street
Qualifying Session is
Completed, Driver and Car are
no longer able to make runs in
that 2nd class...
Tow Back & Tow
Vehicles:
Limited Street does not allow
tow vehicles of any sort in
the staging lanes or on the
return road. All Limited
Street vehicles must drive to
scales and return to pits
without the aide of any other
Motorized Vehicle, Golf Cart,
Quad, Scooter, etc... There
will be a one-time exception
if a vehicle breaks and the racer
gets permission from a SCSN
Official.
Burn-Out
Procedure:
Limited Street does not
allow burn-outs across the
starting line. You must
complete and stop your
burn-out without crossing the
starting line.
Bye-Runs:
All
vehicles must take the tree,
and run down the 1/4 mile
(unless broke & instructed
otherwise by
a SCSN Official) and Scale
Payouts:
All Limited Street Racers
that earn prize money can go
directly to the SCSN trailer
after eliminations and pick up
his/her Winnings.
Winners Circle Picture &
Contingency Verification:
Limited Street Winner &
Runner-up must return to the
SCSN Winners Circle Area for
Official Photographs and
Contingency Verification.
Failing to do so, will result
in loss of all contingency
monies earned. There are no
exceptions!!!
The SCSN has the right to
change or alter these rules
at anytime up to October
19th, 2009 at which time
they will become final...
