HUGHES PERFORMANCE PRO STREET RULES
Class Description
Pro Street will run on a 1/4 mile format with a 32-car
Qualified
field with
Alternates....
BODY:
Steel, aluminum, fiberglass and carbon fiber bodies and body parts are allowed,
must have functional
doors....
CHASSIS / SUSPENSION:
Any chassis and suspension combination that passes NHRA safety standards is allowed.
No center steer entries
permitted....
EXHAUST:
Mufflers are not required.
FUEL / FUEL SYSTEMS:
Gasoline & Alcohol only (No Nitro-methane) The SCSN reserves the right to check
FUEL at any time during competition. The addition of chemical additives intended to alter the makeup of the
FUEL for increased performance is strictly prohibited. During fuel check, a competitor must identify the brand of
FUEL being used. The sample will be considered illegal if it does not match the baseline results (ex. color, dielectric reading +or-.2, and chemical tests) logged by SCSN. Failure to pass fuel check is grounds for disallowance of the run during competition and disqualification from the event during eliminations. Alcohol
will also be tested.....
OIL-RETENTION DEVICE:
All Pro Street cars
must utilize an NHRA-accepted
lower engine oil-retention
device; may use a belly pan in
lieu of a device attached to
the engine. The belly pan must
extend from framerail to
framerail and extend forward
of the harmonic balancer and
rearward of the flywheel and
must incorporate a minimum 2-
inch-high lip on all sides. A
nonflammable, oil-absorbent
liner mandatory inside of
retention device.

housing design and type.

Turbocharger is limited to a
maximum size
of 3.543
inches (90mm) inducer
diameter at the point where
the leading
edge of the compressor
wheel meets the inlet
housing. 3)
Compressor
cover inlet is permitted a
maximum inlet diameter of
3.634 inches
(92.311mm) 4)
Compressor Wheel to housing
clearance must maintain a
maximum 0.091 (2.3114mm)
clearance beginning from a)
the leading edge
of the compressor wheel
where it meets the inlet of
the compressor
housing, to b) the
transition point where the
trailing edge of the
compressor wheel meets the
volute. 5) All air
entering the
turbocharger must pass
through the turbocharger
inlet. 6) Injection
of
any liquid, gas, or any
other substance into the
inlet or exhaust
housing prohibited. 7)
Compressor wheel contour
must be continuous
features from the inducer
to the exducer (no "stepped"
wheels).
Nitrous oxide not allowed in combination with supercharger or turbocharger.
PARACHUTE:
Required on all entries.
STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
Car must appear to look street-able. brake lights, turn signals not required to function.
TIRES:
Front tires must have a minimum tread width of 4.5 inches. Front tires do not have to be DOT
approved. Rear tires have no limitations. The tread of the tires must not protrude outside the body
line at the top of the tire.

Field
Size and Ladder:
Pro
Street will qualify for a 32-car
field (with Alternates) and will be
put on a 32-car Pro Ladder. If less
than 32 cars enter, we will follow
the NHRA "Official Ladder"
for the field size....
All cars that DO NOT QUALIFY,
will be eligible to enter into our
Bracket-1 Class on Sunday that will
pay a guaranteed $1000.00 to WIN....
Alternates:
If
there are more than 32 cars
qualifying for the 32-car field, we
will start inserting alternates (To
replace broken qualified cars)
starting at spot 33 and so on... If
you are an alternate, and a spot
opens up, you will be inserted in
the 1st available position before
the drivers meeting on Sunday
morning. This will give the
qualified cars overnight to get the
cars repaired.

Event Trailer
Contingency Program & Contingency Decals:
All contingency decals may appear anywhere on the vehicle in a clear and organized fashion. Contingency decals may not be overlapped or modified. Most decals are available at the SCSN Event Trailer, but in the event the SCSN does not have the decals in stock, it is the racer's responsibility to obtain the proper decals to be eligible for the Contingency payout.
RACE DAY POLICY'S
SCALES:
After each qualifying and elimination pass, all cars must stop and weigh at the track scales. If you lose in eliminations, and your opponent fails to make weight you will be reinstated into the eliminations only if you made minimum weight requirements. If both cars failed to make minimum weight, both cars will be disqualified. It is the driver's responsibility to verify with each track scale, the weight of his/her car prior to each race day. There will 5lb error factor allowed.
TOW BACK
& TOW VEHICLES:
All Pro Street entries are allowed to tow to staging lanes and to the track scales with a golf cart or other similar small tow vehicle. All carts will be subject to search by a SCSN Official at any time.
AutoStart:
The Auto Start
System will be turned on
with a 7-sec timeout
BYE-RUNS:
All vehicles must take the tree, and run down the 1/4 mile.
