2007 HUGHES PERFORMANCE PRO STREET RULES 


Class Description
Pro Street will run on a 1/4 mile format with a 32-car qualified field.

BODY:
Steel, aluminum, fiberglass and carbon fiber bodies and body parts are allowed.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION:
Any chassis and suspension combination that passes NHRA safety standards is allowed.

EXHAUST:
Mufflers are not required. Vehicles must have conventional style "Collector Headers"
(No Zoomies)


FUEL / FUEL SYSTEMS:
Gasoline & Alcohol only (No Nitro-methane) The SCSN reserves the right to check FUEL at any time during competition. The addition of chemical additives intended to alter the makeup of the FUEL for increased performance is strictly prohibited. During fuel check, a competitor must identify the brand of FUEL being used. The sample will be considered illegal if it does not match the baseline results (ex. color, dielectric reading +or-.2, and chemical tests) logged by SCSN. Failure to pass fuel check is grounds for disallowance of the run during competition and disqualification from the event during eliminations. Alcohol will also be tested.....

SUPERCHARGER / TURBOCHARGER:

Nitrous oxide not allowed in combination with supercharger or turbocharger.


                           
BRACKET RACING AIDS
The use of bracket racing aids such as optical sensors, delay boxes, stutter boxes, and throttle
stops are not allowed.

PARACHUTE:
Required on all entries.

STREET LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
Car must appear to look street-able. brake lights, turn signals not required to function.

TIRES:
Front tires must have a minimum tread width of 4.5 inches. Front tires do not have to be DOT
approved. Rear tires have no limitations. The tread of the tires must not protrude outside the body line at the top of the tire.

Modular V/8's under 300ci with Turbo or Nitrous.............2450 lbs.
Modular V/8's 301ci - 330ci with Turbo or Nitrous............2550 lbs.

Small Block Naturally Aspirated..............................................................2000 lbs.
Small Block with Nitrous..........................................................................2200lbs.
Small Block with Single Turbo, Roots or Centrifugal Supercharger........2600 lbs.
Small Block with Screw Supercharger....................................................2700 lbs.
Small Block with Twin Turbo...................................................................2650 lbs.

Big Block Naturally Aspirated..................................................2200 lbs.
Big Block with Nitrous Injected................................................2650 lbs.
Big Block with Centrifugal Supercharger................................2800 lbs.
Big Block with Roots Supercharger (455ci & Under)................2700 lbs.**
Big Block with Roots Supercharger (456ci & up)......................2900 lbs.
Big Block with Screw Supercharger (455ci & Under)...............2800 lbs.**

** All Big Block Blown Entries that claim to be 455ci or under, will be
CI Tested (pumped) before making a qualifying pass...


Weight Deductions:
*Entries using torque converters with manual trans may deduct........200 lbs.
*Entries using OEM Automatic Transmission may deduct...................250 lbs.

Field Size and Ladder:
Pro Street will qualify for a 32-car field and will be put on a 32-car Pro Ladder. If less than 32 cars enter, we will follow the NHRA "Official Ladder" for the field size....
All cars that DO NOT QUALIFY, will be eligible to enter into our Bracket-1 Class on Sunday that will pay a guaranteed $1000.00 to WIN....

SCSN Required Decals & Plate:
Class Sponsor Decal 
"Hughes Performance" decal must be installed on base of windshield on the passenger side. (Bottom left hand side when looking at front of vehicle windshield)
Event Sponsor Decal 
"Dyno-Flo.com" decal must be installed on base of windshield on the drivers side. (Bottom right hand side when looking at front of vehicle windshield)
SCSN III License Plate 
All cars must display the "2007 SCSN III" Front License Plate either on the front bumper or grille before passing tech. Plate will be given to racers at registration......

Decals will be available during registration at the SCSN Event Trailer

Contingency Program & Contingency Decals:
All contingency decals may appear anywhere on the vehicle in a clear and organized fashion. Contingency decals may not be overlapped or modified. Most decals are available at the SCSN Event Trailer, but in the event the SCSN does not have the decals in stock, it is the racer's responsibility to obtain the proper decals to be eligible for the Contingency payout.


RACE DAY POLICY'S
SCALES:
After each qualifying and elimination pass, all cars must stop and weigh at the track scales. If you lose in eliminations, and your opponent fails to make weight you will be reinstated into the eliminations only if you made minimum weight requirements. If both cars failed to make minimum weight, both cars will be disqualified. It is the driver's responsibility to verify with each track scale, the weight of his/her car prior to each race day. There will 5lb error factor allowed. 

TOW BACK
& TOW VEHICLES:
All Pro Street entries are allowed to tow to staging lanes and to the track scales with a golf cart or other similar small tow vehicle.  All carts will be subject to search by a SCSN Official at any time. 

BYE-RUNS:
All vehicles must take the tree, and run down the 1/4 mile.
